Dr. Carter Loftin was born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana. He has had a fascination and love for animals since he was a young boy, and grew up with many pets over the years. After graduating high school, Dr. Loftin moved to Baton Rouge to attend Louisiana State University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. He was then accepted to the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and decided to focus his studies on companion animal medicine. He graduated from the LSU SVM with honors in May of 2019, and has worked as a small animal veterinarian since that time. Dr. Loftin has both general practice and emergency work experience. He enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine, but his favorite areas of study include Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Preventative Medicine, and Dentistry.

When he isn’t working, Dr. Loftin loves spending time outdoors with his wife (Melissa), son (Mac), and two dogs (Maverick and Tank). He is also a very passionate sports fan, especially for LSU sports and international soccer.
